Why is my email campaign showing a high bounce rate?

Last updated: September 23, 2026

If you notice an unusually high bounce rate in your email campaign metrics, this may be due to restrictions from your email provider. Here are the steps to diagnose and resolve the issue:

Common Causes

  • Email provider's sending limits being reached

  • Unusual sending activity detection

  • Account restrictions or blocks

  • Invalid or outdated email addresses in your prospect list

Preventive Measure: Email Verification

Enable the Verify prospect's emails before sending toggle in your workspace settings to automatically validate email addresses before attempting delivery. This feature helps reduce bounces and protect your sending reputation by running three checks:

If an address fails validation, the system will not send to it, helping lower bounce rates proactively.

How to Resolve

If you're using an integrated email provider (like Zoho), follow these steps:

  1. Log into your email provider's account

  2. Check the status of the email addresses connected to your campaigns

  3. Look for any account restrictions or blocks

  4. Follow your provider's process to unblock sending capabilities if needed

  5. Consider replacing the affected email addresses if the issue persists

Alternative Solutions

If you continue experiencing issues with your email provider, consider upgrading to a Growth seat which allows you to:

  • Set up a mirror domain

  • Send emails directly through our platform

  • Avoid third-party email provider restrictions
