How does Buzz's email verification system work?
Last updated: September 23, 2026
Context
If you're experiencing deliverability issues or want to understand how Buzz validates email addresses before sending campaigns, you may need to know more about the underlying email verification mechanism. This is particularly important when considering whether to use external verification services or override Buzz's built-in verification.
Answer
Buzz uses Emailable as its email verification service to validate prospect email addresses before sending campaigns.
Email Classification:
Buzz's verification system only marks emails as invalid when they are confirmed hard bounces. All other email types (including catch-all domains, role addresses, and other soft indicators) are marked as valid and will be included in your campaigns.
Important: Email verification only occurs when the Verify prospect's emails before sending toggle is enabled in your workspace settings. Enable this setting to automatically validate email addresses before delivery attempts, which helps reduce bounce rates and protect your sending reputation.
Automatic Bounce Suppression:
Once an email bounces, Buzz automatically suppresses that email address and will never send to it again, regardless of whether email validation is enabled or not. You can track bounced emails in your account under Prospects → Statistics → Bounced Emails. Bounced emails will appear in your interface with a Failed status, and you can view all conversations where a bounce occurred in your inbox filters under Statistics + Bounce Rate.
Error Details:
Currently, Buzz does not provide detailed error types or risk levels (such as catch_all, disposable, or syntax error classifications) when marking emails as invalid. The system uses a binary classification: valid or invalid based on hard bounce detection.
Best Practices for Email Deliverability:
Match sender and recipient domains when possible (Gmail-to-Gmail, Outlook-to-Outlook has better deliverability than cross-platform sending)
Use work email addresses when sending to business contacts
Pay attention to content quality and subject lines
Monitor sending frequency and timing
Be aware that sending between personal and business inboxes carries higher spam risk
Important Note:
If you're considering overriding Buzz's verification system, be aware that deliverability impact varies based on individual factors including email provider, content, and sending patterns. A single incorrectly addressed email typically won't affect your reputation, but multiple invalid emails can lower your inbox or domain reputation.
