LinkedIn InMail is a powerful tool that helps you reach potential clients, partners, or work candidates. In this article, we are going to tell you how to efficiently send out InMails using Buzz and maximize your chances of getting a response.

What are InMails?

InMail messages allow you to directly message another Social profile that you are not connected to.

When running a campaign using our platform, you can send InMails to both open and closed profiles using the Sales Navigator credits.

To enable the usage of credits available in your Sales Navigator account, toggle on the Allow to use my InMail credits setting in the Send InMail step of the campaign.

Otherwise, the InMails intended to be sent out as part of the campaign will not be sent because the system does not have the permission to use credits, even if you do have them in your Sales Navigator account.

Sending InMails to Open Profiles

Let’s say you want to send 40 InMails to open profiles exclusively during operating hours (the Allow to use my InMail credits setting in the Send InMail step is toggled off).

In a real-case scenario, there is little chance of achieving such results for some reasons. For instance, the campaign set to send out InMails may not have enough open profiles.

We cannot guarantee that the campaign search will return upwards of 40 open profiles. You can check the number of open profiles in the active InMail campaign on the Prospects tab.

To do so, head to the Prospects tab, tap the Filters icon in the top right corner, click the Profile options, and choose Open as seen in the screenshot below.

The system will only display prospects that turned up after performing search tasks during operating hours.

Moreover, active InMail campaign searches may contain profiles from other campaigns created earlier. That is why a certain number of profiles may not be added to the InMail campaign. As a result, fewer InMails may be sent.

Tips to Make Your InMail Outreach More Efficient

  • Use the Sales Navigator search link for the campaign. This allows our system to avoid taking unnecessary steps as well as spending system operating time and the Views of profiles limit to check if a profile is open.

  • Avoid creating several campaigns with search links that return the same profiles. For instance, you run two campaigns: Campaign №1 for sending connection requests and Campaign №2 for sending InMails. The profiles that could potentially end up in Campaign №2 get added to Campaign №1. As a result, these profiles receive connection requests, but not InMails. To avoid it, you can toggle on the Move prospects setting in Campaign №2.

  • Activate Connection Requests Booster™ to send out API connection requests exclusively and avoid wasting the Views of profiles limit which is also needed to send InMails to open profiles.

  • Set a higher limit (18-20) of Pages Searched to add more profiles to your campaign daily. The more profiles end up in your campaign, the more open profiles there may be. A higher overall number of profiles added to your campaign suggests a higher number of open profiles. It means a potentially bigger InMail outreach. Alternatively, you can turn on Instant Searches.

  • Activate InMails Booster and Instant Searches in the Settings tab > Account Limits. These features allow you to reach a larger audience more quickly, increasing the chances of finding more open profiles. It means a potentially more extensive InMail outreach.

  • Use a campaign search that is guaranteed to have open prospects LinkedIn-wise. You can achieve this by following these steps:

  1. Enable InMails Booster and Instant Searches (Settings tab > Account Limits).

  2. Create Campaign №1 for prospects' search and add them to the campaign (in this case, you can add the Perform action step with actions turned off in the campaign).

  3. Create Campaign №2 strictly for InMail outreach and manually move the open prospects from Campaign №1 using the Prospects tab > Action > Change campaign.

In this case, the Campaign №1 prospects are already proven to be open and able to receive InMails from the Campaign №2.

  • The search should return a minimum of X open prospects (where X is an amount determined by the limit). For example, a campaign has a search link that returns 10 profiles. The campaign’s limits are set to sending 15 InMails per day. This means that the InMails limit cannot be met because the number of profiles within the campaign is lower than 15.

  • If you do not use the Sales Navigator search, we suggest setting a higher Views of profiles limit or activating InMails Booster.

Sales Navigator InMails

To send out Sales Navigator InMails to closed profiles within the campaign, you need to:

  • Have an active Sales Navigator subscription.

  • Toggle on the Allow to use my InMail credits setting in the Send InMail step.

  • Go to Settings > Account Limits and set the InMail credits per month limit (it shows the amount of Sales Navigator InMails that can be sent from campaigns per month using InMail credits).

InMails Booster

InMails Booster allows you to send InMails to open profiles using API.

It saves the Views of profiles limit when sending InMails, which results in a wider InMail outreach.

A Few More Things

  • Currently, our system supports sending Sales Navigator InMails using this type of credits.

  • Premium InMail credits cannot be used to send InMail messages via Sales Navigator or LinkedIn Recruiter.

  • The amount of InMail credits depends on the status of your account. When your Premium subscription ends, you run out of credits.

  • The first InMail you send cannot be followed up without receiving a reply. It means that it is inefficient to add two Send InMail steps back to back.

  • You cannot send an InMail to a prospect who opted out of receiving InMail messages.

Sending InMail messages can significantly increase the efficiency of your communication on LinkedIn. Follow our recommendations to achieve better results and do not hesitate to contact our Customer Support team if you have any questions.
