What to Do If Your Social Account Gets Restricted
Sometimes, the Social Platform may restrict your account if it detects activity that seems unusual. While this can be frustrating, it doesn’t necessarily mean your account is permanently lost. In most cases, there are clear steps you can take to get it back.
Here’s what we recommend:
Log In and Follow the Prompts
When your account is restricted, the Social Platform usually shows a set of instructions after login. Follow those steps carefully as they’re the quickest path to recovery.
Verify Your Identity
You may be asked to upload a government-issued ID like a driver’s license or passport. Make sure the image is clear, all corners are visible, and the text is easy to read.
You may also encounter PIN code verification. If asked to enter a PIN, note that the code expires within 15 minutes, so be ready to enter it immediately after requesting it. If the code expires before you can use it, select Resend the code from your account page on the platform to receive a new one.
Resume Automation After Verification
If you're using our platform's automation features with LinkedIn, you'll need to re-sync your account after completing identity verification.
Log in to your LinkedIn account directly and complete all verification steps that LinkedIn prompts you to complete.
Return to our platform and pause your LinkedIn account.
Unpause the account to initiate the synchronization process.
This pause/unpause cycle ensures our platform re-syncs with LinkedIn after verification is complete.
Troubleshoot Common Account Restriction Scenarios
Check Your Credential Synchronization
If you're using a third-party platform or automation tool, verify that the password stored there exactly matches your current Social Platform password. Mismatched credentials can trigger login challenges, so update the password in your third-party tool's settings if needed.
After your account restriction is lifted, you may need to update your login credentials in connected systems and tools, even if your password hasn't changed. This helps keep the connection active and prevents authentication errors.
Handle Compliance Notifications Efficiently
Sometimes, the Social Platform may show a lighter security or compliance notification asking you to Agree to comply with its terms. This standard check often appears after increased account activity and is less severe than a full restriction. Click Agree to comply to acknowledge the notice and continue using your account normally.
If you receive this type of notification repeatedly several times per day, it may indicate a pattern that needs attention. Consider reducing your activity levels temporarily.
Appeal the Restriction
If you believe the restriction was a mistake, you can file an appeal directly with the Social Platform. Be honest and specific in your explanation. If you have evidence that supports your case, include it. If your appeal isn't immediately successful, continue logging in daily and resubmit your appeal as instructed by the platform.
Check Your Email
The Social Platform often sends an email with details about the restriction. This may include the reason for the action and steps to resolve it. Make sure to check your inbox (and spam folder).
Reach Out to Social Platform Support
If the above steps don’t work, your best bet is to contact the Social Platform’s support team. You can usually find a Help Center or ticket submission form on their official website.
Consider Creating a New Account
In some cases, it may take time for restrictions to be lifted. If you're stuck, you might need to create a new Social Platform account. Use your real name and photo, and build up activity slowly to avoid another flag.
