Why Do You Need to Re-Enter PINs When Your Account Goes Inactive?

Last updated: September 23, 2026

If one of your connected Social Accounts becomes inactive and suddenly requires a PIN to log back in, this can be inconvenient — but it’s important to know that this behavior is driven by the Social Platform’s security systems. PIN re-entry is a standard security measure and cannot be controlled from our side.

Common Reasons for PIN Re-Entry

Several situations can trigger the Social Platform to ask for a PIN again:

  • Standard security behavior

The Social may request re-authentication based on its internal security logic.

  • Account re-synch

If the Social Platform requires the account to be logged in again, a PIN is requested.

  • Changes to Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Updating or enabling 2FA always requires re-verification.

  • Password changes made directly on the social platform

If you change your LinkedIn or other social platform password directly on that platform without updating it in Buzz, your account will disconnect and require re-authentication with the new password.

  • Cookie deletion or expiration

Cookies store login sessions. If they expire or are cleared, the Social Platform prompts a new login.

  • Social platform updates

Interface or security updates can occasionally reset active sessions.

  • Session conflicts

Logging into the same Social account from multiple devices may trigger a security reset.

Can This Be Prevented?

Unfortunately, no. PIN re-entry is a security feature and cannot be disabled or bypassed by our platform.

Note: When a PIN is requested, it expires within 15 minutes. If the code has expired before you can enter it, press 'Resend the code' from the account page on the platform to generate a new PIN. For best results, ensure you can enter the PIN immediately after requesting it.

How to Minimize Disruptions

While PIN prompts can’t be fully avoided, you can reduce how often they occur by:

  • Keeping your account active on a regular basis

  • Avoiding simultaneous logins on multiple devices (we recommend using our Browser to access your Social account)

  • Limiting unnecessary changes to security settings

  • Avoiding frequent cookie clearing when possible

  • Connecting your Social Account using cookies
