Tracking Domains: How to Set Up and Use

A tracking domain in Buzz allows you to replace generic links and video links in your emails with custom-branded URLs. This enhances brand consistency and enables click tracking for better campaign performance.

Setting Up a Tracking Domain

Follow these steps to configure your tracking domain:

  1. Go to Workspace Settings and select Tracking Domains from the menu.

2. Click + New Domain to add a new tracking domain.

3. Enter the domain you want to use for tracking (e.g., tracking.buzz.ai) in the Tracking Domain field.

4. From the dropdown list, select your domain registrar. Click the blue How to add a CNAME with [registrar] button to access detailed setup instructions or follow one of these links:

Make sure to enter the Type, Host, and Value fields from Buzz into the corresponding fields in your registrar's DNS settings.

  • If you want the domain to be used for both campaigns and videos, check both boxes:

Note: Selecting these options will apply the domain only to new campaigns and videos. To apply it to existing ones:

  • Go to Workspace Settings > Tracking Domains;

  • Find the domain you want to edit, click the three-dot button next to it, and select:

    • Set for All Campaigns: Updates all past campaigns' text links to use the tracking domain (excluding video links).

    • Set for All Videos: Ensures all videos are sent using the tracking domain.

5. To finish adding a new domain, click Setup Domain.

Please note that it might take a few minutes for your domain to become active.

How to Activate Link Tracking

To activate link tracking, simply toggle the setting on when you create a new campaign. Then, click Set Up Tracking Domain.

Choose a tracking domain from the list, or click + New Domain to add one following the earlier setup process.
