What to Do If You Get a Compliance Notice from the Social Platform

Last updated: September 23, 2026

From time to time, you may come across a notification like this from the Social Platform.

"We noticed activity from your account that indicates you might be using an automation tool. This can sometimes be caused by browser extensions or third-party applications that run in the background. Please review any tools you may be using to access your account.

To protect our members' privacy and help foster authentic interactions on the platform, our User Agreement doesn't allow the use of automated software. Use of these tools may lead to your account being restricted".

Don’t worry: it’s fairly common, and there are a few reasons it might appear.

Why this might happen:

  • Multiple sessions: If you’ve logged in through a regular web browser, the Social platform may detect an extra session and trigger this message.

  • Messaging patterns: Sending the same message to several people (even manually) can sometimes be flagged.

  • Profile activity: Opening many personal profiles at once (e.g., with “open in new tab”), especially if repeated often, can raise a red flag.

  • Profile details: Providing inaccurate information (such as listing a company you don’t actually work for) may also cause issues.

Account-level risk factors: Certain account characteristics can increase the likelihood of receiving compliance notices and more severe restrictions. Accounts that are not verified, recently created, or accessed from different regions than where they're normally used are at higher risk.

Additional technical factors that can trigger compliance notices

While the main causes above are common, additional technical factors can also trigger these warnings.

  • Account health metrics: Low Social Selling Index (SSI) levels can be interpreted as suspicious activity by the platform's algorithms.

  • Platform limit violations: Exceeding daily or weekly activity thresholds, including orange- or red-zone limits, may trigger automated restrictions.

  • Network inconsistencies: Frequent proxy changes or inconsistent IP addresses can raise red flags for automated detection systems.

  • Campaign intensity: Campaigns with excessive "perform action" steps per sequence step may be flagged as bot-like behavior.

  • Unusual timing patterns: Extended working hours outside normal business patterns or campaigns running on weekends can trigger activity-monitoring alerts.

These technical factors work alongside the general causes described above, so monitoring them can help maintain account health and reduce the risk of restrictions.

What you can do:

This is a standard security/compliance check from the Social Platform. In most cases, simply clicking "Agree to comply" allows you to continue working without interruption. Note that choosing to confirm or deny automation use typically leads to the same outcome—you'll be prompted to log back in regardless of your response. This notification is routine and not necessarily an indication that you've hit any limits.

However, if your account starts receiving this notification multiple times per day, that may indicate a more serious issue and you should reach out to our Customer Support team for a detailed review.

Additional prevention tips:

  • Verify your account whenever possible.

  • Keep your login location consistent with where you normally access your account.

  • Avoid aggressive or spam-like messaging patterns.

  • Ensure any automation tools are running smoothly without errors or loops.

To reduce the chances of receiving this notification, we strongly recommend using our Buzz Browser (to download it, please contact our Customer Support team).

If you haven’t logged in through regular browsers and this issue becomes widespread, please reach out to our Customer Support team — we’ll be happy to investigate further.
